Steve has over a decade of experience with grant-writing and facilitation of community planning processes for local government and nonprofit organizations. Steve has subject matter expertise in the areas of public health, workforce development, education, early childhood (including Head Start and Early Head Start programs), criminal justice, environmental protection, community economic development, and information technology. Key GPG projects include:

  • Grant application development for clients including cities, counties, local workforce development boards, and nonprofit organizations ranging in size and field, resulting in over $50 million in grant awards
  • Planning, facilitation, and writing to develop local plans for the Contra Costa County Workforce Development Board and Richmond Workforce Development Board, as well as the regional plan for the East Bay workforce development region
  • Facilitation and report development for a collaborative effort among funders, local government, and nonprofit organizations in Contra Costa County to plan for the continuation of CalFresh eligibility for individuals identified as able bodied adults without dependents, following the expiration of a federal eligibility waiver
