
Richard believes in the power of bringing community together to create solutions. At GPG, he provides leadership to projects and brings expertise in project management, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, policy analysis, and communications.
Prior to GPG, Richard led and consulted on community organizing initiatives to achieve meaningful impact in over 20 urban and rural communities. Richard started his career as an elementary school teacher at district-run schools and then as an education advocacy nonprofit leader in Oakland and Richmond, California.
Richard is a native Angeleno, son of Mexican immigrant parents, an Upward Bound Program alumnus, and first-generation college graduate.
Outside of work, Richard enjoys quality time with family and friends, outdoor activities and music events, traveling the globe, and remodeling his home.
