California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Signs AB 73 and SB 635
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009
Two bills became California law on Sunday, October 11, 2009, that provide significant boosts to one existing and two planned Family Justice Centers. AB 73, sponsored by Assemblymember Mary Hayashi, extends by five years the County of Alameda’s ability to charge fees on copying vital certificates and to use this revenue to support the Alameda County Family Justice Center. SB 635, sponsored by Senator Patricia Wiggins, does the same thing for two family justice centers in the planning stages in Solano and Sonoma counties. The Glen Price Group wishes to thank Assemblymember Hayashi, Senator Wiggins, and their staffs for the hard work required to bring this legislation from concept to law. This was a great victory for victims of family violence.
