The Garden of Eatin’

Monday, May 26th, 2008

We’re working with the North Bay Children’s Center in Marin County on a feasibility study for their potential capital campaign. Their nearly worn out facilities on the former Hamilton Air Base revolve around a beautiful garden that has become one of the central points of their great work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children. Now, the Garden of Eatin’ is moving to some of their other sites in the region as well. For some great photos check out Frances Rivetti’s article in her Sonoma Country blog. Enjoy!

Glen Price Group Clients Win High School After School Funding

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

High school students at three San Francisco Bay Area campuses will gain access to significant new after school programs thanks to grants announced today by the California Department of Education. The awards, for a total of $3.97 million dollars over five years, will fund a variety of innovative activities at El Cerrito and John F. Kennedy High Schools in the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) and Jesse M. Bethel High School in the Vallejo City Unified School District. At El Cerrito High School, for example, funds will expand activities of the Community Project, a model for a comprehensive approach to promoting student health, well-being, and academic achievement that is now being replicated throughout the WCCUSD.

The Glen Price Group developed and submitted these proposals under a contract with the Bay Area Partnership for Children and Youth, an outstanding intermediary and support organization that has led efforts to raise over $65 million dollars for after school programs serving students and families in priority communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

We also provided proposal review services to three additional grant winners: Sequoia High, Farmersville High, and Lighthouse Community Charter High. Congratulations to all!

GPG Launches Work with MomsRising.Org

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

The Glen Price Group (GPG) is very happy to announce that it has started work with MomsRising (www.momsrising.org). We have been remarkably fortunate over the years to work with organizations that are highly innovative and reflect our own values. MomsRising definitely falls into both of these categories as it is working to “bring together millions of people who share a common concern about the need to build a more family-friendly America” — bringing the power of online organizing to motherhood and family issues. Launched just two years ago, MomsRising has gained over 140,000 citizen members and is rapidly growing. GPG will be working with MomsRising to further develop their capacity to identify, solicit, and secure major foundation investments in their work.

Looking for a great Mother’s Day gift?

Check out this great MomsRising swag.
