The California Cultural and Historical Endowment announced their grant to Sonoma County to seismically retrofit historic Hood House. Once retrofitted and restored, Hood House will serve as an interpretive center and gateway to Hood Mountain Regional Park. Built in 1858 in the Valley of the Moon, Hood House has been a private residence, working ranch and vineyard, the Knights of the Pythians retirement home, and a state school for girls. Congratulations to the County Architect and Sonoma County on securing funding to safely preserve Hood House for generations to enjoy. (California State Historical Landmark #692).
