Contra Costa Workforce Development Board: On December 23, 2005, Victoria Bradshaw, California’s Secretary of the Labor and Workforce Development announced the award of a $691,547 grant to the Contra Costa Workforce Development Board for the “Incumbent Nurse Upgrade Program.” The project builds upon the close collaboration of the four Workforce Investment Boards that comprise EASTBAY Works in Alameda and Contra Costa counties and works closely with healthcare employers to resolve the region’s critical nursing shortage.
