United States Agriculture Secretary Ann M. Veneman announces $11.3 million in broadband community grants, including $892,023 for Break Away Technologies, a Glen Price Group client. Through its proposal to the USDA, Break Away seeks to bring the benefits of broadband technology to one of Mississippi’s smallest and most rural communities, Friars Point in Coahoma County. In executing this work, Break Away will be providing the residents of Friars Point with a comprehensive system of community access to state-of-the-art information technology and Internet access. See the press release for full text of Secretary Veneman’s remarks. Go Break Away!

The Glen Price Group would like to extend a warm greeting to the Southwest Community Health Center (SCHC) of Santa Rosa. SCHC provides high quality, comprehensive medical and preventive healthcare to low-income, medically underserved, and uninsured residents of Southwest Santa Rosa. GPG will be working with SCHC to analyze the feasibility of a potential capital campaign as well as prospective new sources of annual and program support.

A massive standing ovation for the City of Richmond and the EASTBAY Works IT Task Force. The partners were just informed that they have received an H-1B Technical Skills Training Grant for $2,992,338. The grant will fund the Task Force’s efforts to provide East Bay businesses with advanced information technology training for their incumbent workers. The Glen Price Group was proud to be part of this great team!

Three cheers for the YMCA of the East Bay, which was awarded a $149,000 grant from Alameda County Waste Management for its YMCA Right Choices program. The goal of YMCA Right Choices is to provide children and students with the conceptual and practical tools to develop creative solutions to 4Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot) issues they will encounter for the rest of their lives. Once again, Congratulations! See Contra Costa Times Article profiling YMCA Camp Arroyo.
